01 / DIRECT ANSWER
How do you speed up, slow down or stop player decline?
Stay outside FC’s built-in Edit Player screen, press F9 → Features → Players, edit a player from your managed team and open Other. Set Exp Multiplier, Bonus Exp and, when needed, No Decline. For positive events, received XP = (source XP × multiplier) + bonus. Use Player → Save, refresh the FC screen, then save the Career. CPU-managed players are outside this feature’s scope.
Scale every received source event: 1.5× means 50% faster; 0.5× means 50% slower.
Add a configured amount after multiplication to the trained attributes.
Prevent negative XP. It does not increase Potential or guarantee positive growth.
02 / CONTROL MAP
Three fields answer three different questions
Above 1.0 accelerates; below 1.0 slows. The player still needs an XP source.
0.1× · 0.5× · 1.0× · 2.0× · 5.0×Added second. A large bonus can dominate a small source event.
(SOURCE × MULTIPLIER) + BONUSWhen enabled for an in-scope player, negative XP is prevented.
SEPARATE FROM POSITIVE FORMULABase game still supplies context. EA identifies match experience and form as youth-development factors, while Dynamic Development Plans select/adapt plans. Live Editor modifies received XP; it does not replace plans, coaches, form or matches.
03 / INTERACTIVE DEVELOPMENT LAB
Separate arithmetic, ownership and proof
Use the local model to reproduce the documented positive-XP equation, route a decline scenario through the managed-team boundary, and build a seven-control experiment. Nothing here touches FC 26.
No game or save connection
Build the development receipt
The creator documents this order for received positive XP: multiply the source event, then add Bonus Exp. It is a flow model—not an attribute or OVR forecast.
04 / FORMULA & TIMING
The multiplier runs first; Bonus Exp runs second
Do not rewrite this as `(90 + 200) × 2.5`. The page uses arithmetic fixtures only; it does not fabricate an in-game result.
100 × 1.0 + 0100 XP100 × 1.5 + 0150 XP100 × 0.5 + 050 XP100 × 1.0 + 250350 XPMatches also award XP. The Wiki allows for other factors and calls a session “around 100 XP,” so keep the baseline approximate.
05 / SAFE ONE-PLAYER WORKFLOW
Commit the player, the screen and the Career evidence
- 01Map versions and create a backup
Record the FC title update and Live Editor build. Use a second Career slot.
- 02Leave FC’s own Edit Player screen
Its values can overwrite Live Editor edits when you exit. Work from a stable squad/Career screen.
- 03Open the exact managed-team player
F9 → Features → Players → verify player ID and club → Edit → Other.
- 04Change one development variable
Start with multiplier, bonus or No Decline—not all three—so the result remains attributable.
- 05Use Player → Save
Commit the entity through Live Editor, then refresh/re-enter the current FC screen.
- 06Save the Career and cross the checkpoint
Use the test slot and preserve the same plan, form, coaches and match path.
- 07Reopen and inspect the external rule
Confirm the player plus the matching SAVE_ID/players_development.json entry.
06 / MANAGED-TEAM BOUNDARY
This is a player rule, not a league-wide growth slider
Multiplier, bonus and No Decline can modify the selected player’s development rule.
RULE APPLIEDThe creator says these players are unaffected. A successful user-team test does not prove league-wide behavior.
SOURCE SYSTEM UNCHANGEDRealism implication: slowing only your own squad cannot directly correct growth inflation across AI clubs. Do not advertise it as a global Career balancing switch.
07 / NO DECLINE
Block negative XP without inventing a fountain of youth
The documentation does not give a numeric decline equation. Observe it in a restored branch.
Prevents attribute loss from negative XP for the in-scope player.
- Does not raise Potential
- Does not add positive XP
- Does not affect CPU clubs
- Does not promise to freeze every ageing system
08 / XP IS NOT OVR
Development changes the flow into thresholds—not the rating directly
09 / REALISM PROFILES
Choose a hypothesis—not maximum growth
These are editorial starting points derived from the documented controls, not official presets. Community needs conflict: some academy players stall, while some user squads become overpowered and veterans decline too sharply.
Baseline for every A/B test.
Slow user-team growth without lowering Potential.
Scales the XP events the player actually receives.
Adds the same configured amount after every source event.
Blocks negative XP; does not manufacture growth.
10 / VERSION TIMELINE
Separate the individual feature from later bulk actions
First changelog appearance in Player Editor; the label is broad, so no undocumented field-by-field date is invented.
The batch surface appears, but development actions are not listed at this point.
Development Exp Bonus, Exp Multiplier and No Decline become documented batch actions.
11 / VERSIONED A/B EXPERIMENT
Prove one variable across the same weekly checkpoint
- Same player and Friday save
- No Decline off
- Cross one matched event
- Record post-event attributes
FRIDAY
- Same plan and coaches
- Same form/match path
- Cross the same checkpoint
- Inspect matching JSON rule
Career simulation can contain undocumented factors and the UI exposes no complete event ledger. Repeat after version changes and keep the player, checkpoint and inputs identical.
12 / BULK, PERSISTENCE & ROLLBACK
The Career slot and the external rule must agree
Refresh the current FC screen, then save the Career test slot.
C:\FC 26 Live Editor\extensions\careers\SAVE_ID\players_development.jsonConfirm the same player ID and repeat the controlled checkpoint.
Back up, filter to the managed club/cohort, count visible rows, apply one action, wait, then sample multiple players. The complete batch workflow belongs to article 47.
- 01Record the player ID and preserve the matching JSON.
- 02Remove only that player rule through the current UI or documented
RemovePlayerAPI. - 03Reload the matching Career, reopen the player and repeat the control checkpoint.
13 / FRESH VIDEO AUDIT
No current video proved the complete Live Editor contract
Three searches returned 26 results—23 unique—on 17 August 2026. Current caption-backed videos explain the audience need and base-game inputs, but none demonstrate all three fields, managed-team negative control, formula, JSON persistence and a weekly A/B checkpoint.
Younger/older-player growth problem; direct stats and Potential, not development-rule proof.
Coaches, form, minutes and loans are useful control variables.
Plans and performance are context. Loan glitch is rejected.
Training plan, match XP, form and coaches; not Live Editor authority.
Evidence rule: creator documentation controls Live Editor behavior; EA controls base-game behavior; videos contribute terminology and experiment variables only.
14 / FAQ
Player development speed and No Decline questions
01How do I change player development speed in FC 26 Live Editor?+
Outside FC’s built-in Edit Player screen, press F9 → Features → Players, edit a player from your managed club, open Other, then set Exp Multiplier and Bonus Exp. Use Player → Save, refresh the FC screen and save the Career.
02What is the FC 26 Live Editor development XP formula?+
For a positive XP event, the creator documents received XP as (source XP × Exp Multiplier) + Bonus Exp. The exact example is (90 × 2.5) + 200 = 425 XP.
03Does the multiplier apply before Bonus Exp?+
Yes. The documented order multiplies the source XP first and adds Bonus Exp second.
04Is one XP equal to one attribute point or one OVR?+
No. Attributes use cumulative XP thresholds that rise by level. XP flow is not a direct attribute, Overall Rating or Potential edit.
05When does player development XP arrive?+
The creator says development plans award XP once weekly between Saturday and Sunday, and matches also award XP. Other factors may exist, so treat the UI’s roughly 100-XP session language as approximate.
06Does player development control work on CPU teams?+
No. The creator explicitly limits these controls to players in the team managed by the user. CPU-managed teams are unaffected.
07What exactly does No Decline do?+
No Decline prevents negative XP and therefore stops attribute loss from that development mechanism. It does not raise Potential, promise growth or freeze every Career ageing system.
08Does a slower XP multiplier also slow decline?+
The documentation gives a separate No Decline control for negative XP and does not define a numeric decline formula. Test decline through a restored branch rather than extrapolating the positive-XP equation.
09Where are development rules saved?+
The Lua documentation places them in extensionscareersSAVE_IDplayers_development.json under the Live Editor installation. Also follow the normal Player Save, refresh and Career Save procedure.
10How do I remove a player development rule?+
Record the player ID, preserve the matching JSON, remove the player rule through the current UI or the documented RemovePlayer API, reload the matching Career and repeat the weekly control test.
11Can I apply Exp Multiplier or No Decline in bulk?+
Yes, current bulk actions include Exp Bonus, Exp Multiplier and No Decline. They apply to players visible in the filtered list, so verify the filter and row count before confirming.
12What is a realistic development preset?+
Start with 1.0×, zero bonus and No Decline off as a control. Move one variable at a time: below 1.0× for slower user-team growth, or No Decline only for a veteran you intend to protect.
