Grounds crew / clean-room control 20

Return the pitch to regulation.

Do not begin by deleting folders. Protect Career saves and the failed-attempt log; close Live Editor Launcher so its documented anticheat restoration can finish; remove Live Editor, Mod Manager and tool-specific launch arguments from the entry path; then use Repair / Verify in the storefront that owns FC 26 and launch directly. A responsive main menu is the vanilla control.

01 PROTECT→02 CLOSE→03 DETACH→04 VERIFY→05 LAUNCH

01 / DIRECT ANSWER

How do I restore vanilla FC 26 after Live Editor or mods?

Preserve → close → detach → verify → launch. Every step has one owner and one observable result.

01PRESERVESaves + evidence

Protect what cannot be recreated.

02CLOSELet cleanup finish

Launcher owns fake-EAAC restoration.

03DETACHZero tool hooks

No LE, FMM, dataPath or tool shortcut.

04VERIFYStorefront files

Repair through the install owner.

05LAUNCHDirect baseline

Reach a responsive main menu.

THE ROLLBACK RULERestoration is a controlled subtraction, not a deletion spree.

Remove one external layer at a time and keep the first passing state. Deleting saves, profile files, caches and generated mods together destroys the comparison.

02 / CONTROL DEFINITIONS

What does “vanilla FC 26” mean here?

TRUE VANILLABASELINE
Licensed FC 26 through its owner
  • Live Editor Launcher closed
  • Mod Manager closed
  • No tool-specific launch arguments
  • Storefront-verified installed files
  • Normal EA Javelin path
LIVE EDITOR / NO MODSSECOND CONTROL
Tool active, mods disabled
  • Live Editor still injects
  • Launcher still owns fake-EAAC lifecycle
  • No Mods disables mod content
  • dataPath may remain
  • Useful only after vanilla passes
MODS WITHOUT LIVE EDITORTHIRD CONTROL
Mod-stack isolation
  • Mod Manager/mod files active
  • No Live Editor injection
  • Creator recommends testing this first
  • Not a vanilla baseline
  • Routes to mod integration

03 / BEFORE ANY CHANGE

What must be protected before restoring files?

Keep irreplaceable user data separate from replaceable installed files.

BACK UP
  • Valuable Career saves in an independent location
  • Newest Live Editor log and exact attempt time
  • Screenshot/text of the first popup or status
  • Current game build, Live Editor and Mod Manager versions

04 / SAFE RECOVERY PROTOCOL

Use the least destructive path first

  1. 01
    Finish or stop active writes

Do not interrupt a Career save. Once stable, close FC 26 and record the failure time.

    USER DATA
  2. 02
    Close Live Editor Launcher normally

Give its documented original anticheat restoration time to finish. Preserve the newest log before deleting nothing.

    LE OWNER
  3. 03
Close Mod Manager and EA App

Confirm no tool launcher is still waiting for the game. Restart Windows once if process ownership is unclear.

    PROCESS
  4. 04
    Remove tool-specific entry points

Clear advanced launch options used for mods; do not use LE/FMM shortcuts for the baseline.

    ENTRY
  5. 05
    Repair or verify installed files

Use the library that owns the installation: EA App, Steam or Epic.

    STOREFRONT

    Launch directly and observe

Do not open editing tools. A responsive FC 26 main menu is the clean pass.

06 / LIVE EDITOR CLEANUP

Why must Live Editor Launcher close before verification?

The creator documents a temporary executable swap with automatic restoration on Launcher close.

LAUNCH STARTInstallFakeAnticheatTemporary fake launcher copied

Live Editor owns this modified launch window.

Public log sequence records this cleanup stage.

Only now should storefront verification establish the baseline.

i
Observable, not magical

Issue #41 shows cleanup milestones, but its environment is nonstandard. If your Launcher did not close cleanly, do not manually copy an anticheat executable from another PC—restart once, then let Repair/Verify and the official Javelin route own restoration.

07 / ZERO TOOL HOOKS

What must be absent from a direct vanilla launch?

×Live Editor Launcher

Do not press Run Game or leave it waiting for FC26.exe.

×FIFA Mod Manager

Do not Apply/Launch through a mod profile.

×-dataPath FIFAModData

Remove the tool-specific argument from the direct entry path.

×Tool shortcut / wrapper

Start from the library that owns the licensed installation.

Closing a window is not enough if another shortcut or launch option still injects the same layer. Record the exact entry point you use.

08 / INSTALL OWNERSHIP

Which storefront owns the file baseline?

EA APPEA owns files + handoff

Repair in EA App, then launch from its Library. Use the game tile’s three-dot menu for Repair.

EA Library → FC 26
STEAMSteam owns installed files

Verify in Steam. EA App appearing afterward is the expected intermediary for the licensed launch.

Steam → EA → FC26.exe
EPICEpic owns installed files

Verify in Epic. Launch from Epic Library; EA App can still participate in the entitlement handoff.

Epic → EA → FC26.exe
ONE OWNER RULEDo not repair an Epic or Steam installation by guessing an EA folder.

Use the owning library for installed-file integrity, then let the normal linked-platform chain continue.

09 / REPAIR OR VERIFY

How do I verify FC 26 game files?

EA APPREPAIR
  1. Open EA App and Library.
  2. Find FC 26.
  3. Open the tile’s three-dot menu.
  4. Select Repair and wait.
EA procedure ↗
STEAMVERIFY
  1. Restart PC and open Steam.
  2. FC 26 → Properties.
  3. Open Installed Files.
  4. Select Verify integrity.
Steam procedure ↗
EPICVERIFY
  1. Open Epic Library.
  2. FC 26 → three dots.
  3. Select Manage.
  4. Select Verify and wait.
Epic procedure ↗
Steam caveat

Steam says one or more local configuration files can fail verification normally. Do not treat that message alone as proof of remaining mods.

Epic data claim

Epic says verification changes or repairs differing installed files and does not affect saved data. Backup still protects against later, separate profile actions.

10 / CLEAN PASS

When is vanilla FC 26 actually restored?

A successful verification is not the final test. The direct game launch is.

01Library launch

You started FC 26 from EA, Steam or Epic—not an editor/mod shortcut.

02Normal Javelin path

No fake Live Editor launcher lifecycle is active.

03Stable process

FC26.exe produces a game window instead of immediately disappearing.

04Responsive main menu

Input works and no exact EA/Javelin/game error owns the screen.

✓
CONTROL PASSEDStop here and keep the clean run.

Do not “improve” the baseline with more repairs. This is now the comparison for reintroducing one tool layer.

11 / STALE PROCESS STATE

What if vanilla FC 26 says the game is already running?

The popup proves a process/ownership state is detected—not which file caused it.

PUBLIC ISSUE #24OPEN · NO MAINTAINER REPLY
What the report supports

After an incompatible Editor attempt, the user says a later launch without Editor always reported that the game was already running.

What it does not support

A specific stuck process, damaged anticheat file, registry cause or confirmed fix. The issue contains no log, comments or resolution.

  1. 01

  2. 02

  4. 04

Retest direct vanillaIf it returns, capture Task Manager process names and the exact popup.

12 / REAL ANTICHEAT BOUNDARY

When should EA Javelin be reinstalled?

Only after vanilla exposes a matching Javelin issue. Repair/Verify and a direct launch come first.

EA CONFIRMS
  • Javelin installs automatically for supported games.
  • EA does not recommend uninstalling without a troubleshooting need.
  • Restart the game first, then use the exact error route.
  • Manual install selects the game-specific entry.
  • Some exact messages explicitly route to reinstall.
DO NOT GENERALIZE
  • Do not use Uninstall All for a Live Editor-only failure.
  • Do not copy an anticheat executable from another user.
  • Do not treat Fake EAAC and real Javelin as the same state.
  • Do not apply Error #701 or Secure Boot steps without that error.
  • Do not keep Live Editor active during the vanilla check.

13 / DATA OBJECT BOUNDARIES

FIFAModData, EA cache and game files are not the same thing

GENERATED MOD CONTENTFIFAModData

Used by the Mod Manager dataPath workflow. Stop referencing it before considering deletion.

EA scopes cache clearing to download/update, offline or missing-library states—not game-file restoration.

14 / PROFILE SAFETY

Do not delete FC profile files to prove vanilla

EA’s corrupt-file route is a later, exact-symptom test—not the default rollback.

KEEPCareer files

EA says they are mode saves and cannot be redownloaded or restored after deletion.

KEEPOnline Profiles

EA explicitly excludes them from its corrupt-file deletion procedure.

Deleting it loses Skill Game progress and custom controller layout; use only if you accept the reset.

LATER / EXACT INTENTOther corrupt profile files

Only after vanilla file integrity passes and the observed symptom matches EA’s corrupt-file route.

15 / EXPENSIVE LAST RESORT

When is a full FC 26 reinstall justified?

Not before the smaller controls produce evidence.

REPAIR / VERIFY FIRSTReversible and owner-scoped

It compares installed product files without deliberately removing the whole game.

18 / FAQ

Vanilla recovery questions

01How do I restore vanilla FC 26 after using Live Editor?

Protect saves and logs, close Live Editor Launcher completely so its documented anticheat restoration can finish, remove tool-specific launch options and shortcuts, run Repair or Verify in the owning storefront, then launch FC 26 directly from that library without Live Editor or Mod Manager.

02Does the Live Editor No Mods checkbox restore vanilla FC 26?

No Mods is an excellent Live Editor isolation control, but the creator changelog says it disables mods without removing the dataPath option. A true vanilla test also removes Live Editor, Mod Manager and tool-specific launch arguments from the entry path.

03Should I delete FIFAModData to restore vanilla?

Not as the first step. First stop using Mod Manager and remove dataPath from the direct vanilla entry path. FIFAModData is generated mod content, not EA App cache or a Career save. Its deletion belongs to the separate cache/data guide after evidence and saves are protected.

04Will Repair or Verify delete my Career saves?

Storefront verification targets installed game files. Epic explicitly says saved data is unaffected. Still back up Career saves first because later profile/file deletion is separate and EA warns Career files cannot be restored if deleted.

05Should I reinstall EA Javelin anticheat?

Only when vanilla FC 26 presents a matching Javelin problem. EA says Javelin installs automatically and does not recommend uninstalling it unless troubleshooting an issue. Use the FC 26 entry, not Uninstall All.

06What if FC 26 says it is already running after Live Editor?

Do not assume a file cause. Issue #24 reports the symptom but has no confirmed diagnosis. Let Launcher close, preserve its newest log, restart Windows once to clear ambiguous process ownership, then retest directly and record the exact process/popup if it returns.

07Should I delete Personal Settings 1 or my FC 26 profile?

Not for basic vanilla restoration. EA warns that deleting Personal Settings 1 loses Skill Game progress and custom controller layout, while Career files cannot be redownloaded or restored. Keep those files unless you are deliberately testing the exact corrupt-profile route.

08When is FC 26 considered clean enough for a vanilla control?

Live Editor Launcher and Mod Manager are closed, tool-specific launch options are absent, installed files have been checked by the owning storefront, and a direct library launch reaches a responsive main menu through the normal Javelin path.
