01 / DIRECT ANSWER
How to use FC 26 Live Editor Player Editor
Back up the Career, stay outside FC’s built-in Edit Player screen, press F9, open Features → Players, find the exact player and use Edit. Choose the correct operation, follow its own Save contract, refresh the FC screen and verify before overwriting the recovery slot.
Name can be ambiguous. Capture player ID, club and intended mode.
Do not treat every player task as a field edit or one universal Save.
Refresh, Career/Squads save where required, reload and compare.
02 / THREE NON-NEGOTIABLES
Stop before editing unless these conditions are true
The creator’s own Wiki begins with recovery and mode boundaries. These are not optional polish; they decide whether an edit is supported and recoverable.
Save the Career to another slot before the first change.
ROLLBACKManager Career is the baseline; online FUT, Clubs and Volta are excluded.
SCOPELeaving FC’s own screen can overwrite Live Editor changes with old data.
OWNERSHIP03 / INTERACTIVE ROUTER
Route the football job to the correct operation
Choose a family and exact task. The desk reveals the target entity, scope, persistence, risk and proof target, then links to the detailed guide.

Clear four universal checks
Universal safety is incomplete. The child guide adds action-specific boundaries after these checks.
One existing player · MEDIUM RISK04 / COMPLETE OPERATION MAP
Thirteen routes, seven football jobs
The Player Editor cluster is organized by what the user is trying to preserve or change—not by a dump of tabs and version notes.
Current level, future ceiling, gameplay identity and development speed.
Name, commentary, ordinary appearance, head assets, tattoos and portrait.
Fitness, injury, duration, Never Tired and suspension are different states.
Competition records and starting-XI influence use different fields and timing.
Forward transactions belong to Player Editor; exact current-season undo belongs to History.
A filter creates the visible list; Bulk Edit acts on that visible list.
Create, clone, preset, overwrite and delete hide different identity risks.
05 / MODE BOUNDARY
Manager Career is the baseline—not a universal guarantee
The official Wiki says Player Editor is designed for Manager Career, some features may not work in Player Career or tournament mode, and online FUT, Clubs and Volta are unsupported.
Use the exact child-page scope and save receipt.
Selection Bias and VPRO are exceptions; do not generalize them.
Online modes are outside the published Player Editor contract.
06 / ENTRY PATH
Open the player from the Live Editor list
Load the intended mode first. The documented route is F9 → Features → Players → exact row → Edit.
- 01Load the mode
Career or squad-file context must already exist.
- 02Press F9
Open the Live Editor overlay.
- 03Features → Players
Enter the player list, not FC’s own Edit Player.
- 04Find exact row
Use name/ID and verify the club.
- 05Open Edit
Only then choose the operation.
07 / ENTITY OWNERSHIP
One player, a list, a record and a transaction are different targets
Most bad workflows start by choosing a control before identifying the entity it owns. Scope the target first.
Attributes, name, appearance, development and selection state.
The complete visible cohort, not a guessed checkbox subset.
Stable IDs, collision risk and destructive identity changes.
A current-season move, not the player object itself.
08 / FOUR SAVE LANES
There is no universal Player Editor Save button
Use the persistence contract attached to the operation. “I clicked Save” is not a complete receipt.
09 / ABILITY
Current ability, future ceiling and development speed are separate
Attributes and OVR describe the current player; Potential is the ceiling layer; PlayStyles shape gameplay identity; development EXP controls received growth, not an instant rating.
Direct field layer with position-dependent interpretation.
Edit ability →High Potential can coexist with low current OVR.
Edit Potential →Not substitutes for raw attributes.
Edit styles →No Decline prevents negative development XP.
Control growth →10 / IDENTITY & LIKENESS
Name, 3D model and 2D portrait are three layers
A player can display the right custom name while retaining the wrong commentary, head or miniface. Verify each layer with its own evidence.
Custom text has higher display priority; only a match proves commentary.
Identity guide →Head replacement has a documented created-player stop.
Appearance guide →Official standard: real 180×180 DDS DXT5, not a renamed PNG.
Miniface guide →11 / DEVELOPMENT & AVAILABILITY
Growth, fitness, injury and suspension need different proof
A fit player can still be injured or suspended; Stamina is an attribute; Never Tired has both gameplay-wide and player-Bulk contexts. Use the exact state family.
EXP model and user-managed-team scope.
Open development →Heal alone is documented as full fitness plus remove injury.
Open availability →Separate individual action added in v26.3.6.
Remove suspension →12 / RECORDS & XI
Correct the competition row or influence the next lineup
Season Statistics edits current goals, assists and clean sheets in a documented competition scope. Selection Bias changes inclusion priority and depends on Position on Pitch only when bias is above zero.
Auto-saved field, current season, 0–100 safety boundary.
Statistics guide →Published anchors, not a percentage formula. Save before Play Match.
Selection guide →13 / MOVEMENT
A forward transaction and an undo are different operations
Player Editor creates a transfer, loan, return or release. Transfer History reviews an exact current-season transaction. Moving the player back manually is another forward transaction.
Choose permanent move, loan, terminate loan, release or list state.
Transaction classifier →Current-season scope and origin/destination proof.
Undo review →14 / FIND & SCALE
The filter owns the cohort before Bulk owns the action
Basic search finds a known identity, Quick Filter uses named shortcuts, and Advanced lists define field conditions. Bulk Edit then targets players visible on that list.
One Advanced list intersects; separate lists widen with OR.
Build the cohort →Record count and samples, confirm one action and wait.
Control the batch →15 / CREATION
Create, clone, overwrite, preset and delete are not synonyms
These operations change player-record identity in different ways. Verify source and target IDs before the action and the exact match after reload.
16 / CAREER VS SQUAD FILE
Editing a squad file does not update an existing Career
The Wiki documents a separate squad workflow: edit players, Save Squads, later Load Squads and choose Use Current Squads when starting a new Career.
Persists into the loaded Career slot after verification.
Feeds a new Career through Use Current Squads.
17 / RECOVERY & PROOF
Close every edit with an evidence receipt
A green-looking field inside the overlay proves only the overlay state. Keep the recovery slot until the game surface and reloaded save agree.
- 01Before
Record version, mode, player ID, original value and recovery slot.
- 02Change
Perform one operation and capture the exact control.
- 03Refresh
Leave and re-enter the relevant FC screen.
- 04Persist
Use the operation-specific Save lane.
- 05Reload
Verify the exact player, field and outside control.
18 / VIDEO EVIDENCE
No single current video owns the complete Player Editor
Four fresh searches returned 47 slots and 40 unique videos. Results mix Live Editor overviews, FC 25 tutorials, base-game editing, repacks, face tools and unrelated editors; creator documentation and the child-page tests remain the authority.
Good audience vocabulary; promotional scope narrowed by official docs.
36:02 / PLAYERS LISTCurrent list and edit surfaceTranslated captions; no universal Save or Bulk proof.
03:16 / BASE GAMEEdit Real PlayerA different FC surface, retained to prevent conflation.
Relevant audio/captions were already normalized in articles 1–50.
19 / FAQ
Player Editor questions, answered by entity and scope
01What is FC 26 Live Editor Player Editor?+
It is the player-focused part of FC 26 Live Editor for inspecting and changing player data during supported offline workflows. Its functions include attributes, appearance, identity, development, records, movement, creation and batch operations, each with different boundaries.
02How do I open Player Editor in FC 26?+
Run a compatible Live Editor, load the intended game mode, press F9, open Features → Players, find the exact player and use the Edit icon.
03Can I use Player Editor in FUT, Clubs or Volta?+
No. The official Editing Player Wiki explicitly excludes online FUT, Clubs and Volta.
04Does every feature work in Player Career?+
No universal promise exists. The creator says Live Editor is designed for Manager Career and that some features may not work in Player Career or tournament mode. Use the exact child guide for exceptions such as Selection Bias or VPRO.
05Can FC’s own Edit Player screen stay open?+
No. The official Wiki warns that leaving the built-in Edit Player screen can overwrite Live Editor changes with older player data. Use Squad Hub, Central or Office instead.
06How do Player Editor changes save?+
The common individual chain is Player → Save, re-enter the current FC screen, verify, then save the Career. Exceptions include popup Save, Season Statistics auto-save, external miniface files, Bulk actions and transaction-specific confirmation.
07Can Player Editor edit a squad file instead of a Career?+
Yes. After editing, use Customize → Profiles → Save Squads. Later load that squad file and choose Use Current Squads when starting a new Career. This does not retrofit the file into an existing Career.
08Can I edit attributes, Potential and PlayStyles?+
Yes, but they are separate layers. Use the dedicated guide to avoid treating high Potential as current OVR or a PlayStyle as a raw attribute.
09Can I change a player’s face and miniface?+
Appearance/head assets and minifaces are different. A head model changes the 3D player; a miniface is a 2D external portrait override. Created-player eligibility also differs.
10Can I transfer, loan or release a player?+
Yes, through distinct operations. A permanent transfer, loan, terminate-loan, release to Free Agents and transfer-list state are not interchangeable.
11Which players does Bulk Edit change?+
The official Bulk Editing Wiki says it applies to players visible on the list. Filters therefore define the batch target; it is not documented as checkbox selection.
12Can I create a player or undo a transfer?+
Yes, but they belong to different entities. Create/clone/delete operates on a player record and stable ID; Transfer History reviews an exact current-season transaction row.
